UNITED CRUSHERS!

Twice this past week, I've explored in and around the abondoned grain silos in Dinkytown. Although said to be "dangerous" (and truthfully they are, there are many ways to fall from very large heights), with any common sense it's quite easy to climb and maneuver them! Went on my first trip there with my friend Nick. It was noonish, and we were both killing a few hours before work. We found a hole in the wall of one of the buildings, and decided to go in! The smell on the first floor was horrid, but that did not deter us from venturing on. The walls were covered in graffiti, some phenominal, and some pure chickenscratch. We ascended many flights of stairs to find lots of rooms with old machinery, pigeons, and interesting litter. We each drank a beer on the roof of the building in the afternoon sunlight, and the feeling was spectacular. I was totally at peace with the world. Just yesterday, me and Sara decided to readventure the building. Sara was almost more adventurous than I was, and got some really cool pictures as well. We found some paper presses that looked ancient, with remants of paper-making-pulp still in them. We enjoyed a great view from the balcony, then headed back down. There are many other buildings in this complex that appear to be abandoned, so maybe someday we will be back!
